Wilford "Bob" Bertram Beisel, Jr.
Wilford "Bob" Bertram Beisel, Jr., born August 4, 1924 , passed away peacefully on January 21st 2014. He was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee. He grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated as valedictorian and class president from Allentown High School in 1942. Of interest, the salutatorian of his graduating class was Lee Iacocca of Chrysler Motors. Wilford enlisted in the Marines after high school and successfully completed Officers Training School and completed his military service as First Lieutenant. After his military service he finished his college career at Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Fuel Technology. He was a proud member of Sigma Pi fraternity.
He took on a position with Babcock and Wilcox and served them faithfully until his retirement. He worked his way up to Vice President of the Nuclear Equipment Division.
He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Phyllis Gadd Beisel, formerly of Copley, Ohio. Surviving are his three children: Patricia Pivaroff Jake of Las Vegas , Nevada; James Beisel Kelliof Savannah , Georgia; and Robert Beisel of Columbus , Ohio. He was a grandfather to six grandsons and two granddaughters, and great grandfather to
3 great-grandsons.
He will be interred at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Vero Beach Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations would be gladly accepted at Hospice Savannah, Inc.
